[06-30-2026] Tehama County, CA – Driver Arrested After Fleeing Crash Involving Semi-Truck in Red Bluff

A driver was arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash involving a semi-truck in Red Bluff on Tuesday night, June 30, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 9:15 p.m. on South Avenue and Interstate 5.

Authorities said the driver of a 2021 BMW was traveling westbound on South Avenue at an unsafe speed when the vehicle failed to stop and collided with a 2013 Freightliner semi-truck that was preparing to turn left onto southbound I-5.

CHP reported that neither driver sustained injuries in the crash. The BMW driver allegedly fled the scene on foot but was later located and taken into custody by officers.

The California Highway Patrol’s Red Bluff Area office is continuing to investigate the incident.
