[06-24-2026] Orange County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Newport Beach

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Newport Beach on Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2026.

According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the incident occurred just after 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Newport Coast Drive. 

Authorities stated a vehicle hit the pedestrian in the westbound lanes of Coast Highway, just west of the intersection.

Despite life-saving efforts by witnesses and emergency responders, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The Newport Beach Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the case.
