[06-21-2026] Shasta County, CA – One Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash in Anderson

One driver was killed, and another was seriously injured in a head-on collision on Panorama Point Road in Anderson on Sunday evening, June 21, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7 p.m., south of Kimberly Road. 

A 25-year-old Anderson man traveling north in a black GMC Yukon crossed the double yellow lines and entered the southbound lane, colliding with a southbound silver Chevrolet Colorado driven by 77-year-old Paul P. of Cottonwood. Both vehicles rolled after the impact. 

The GMC came to rest on railroad tracks and caught fire, while the Chevrolet stopped on the right shoulder of Kimberly Road. 

Emergency personnel extricated the GMC driver and attempted lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet suffered major injuries, including lacerations to his right arm, and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.

CHP confirmed that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
