[06-16-2026] San Bernardino County, CA – Fiery Crash Involving Two Semi-Trucks on I-40 East of Kelbaker Rd.

A fiery crash involving two semi-trucks caused major delays and a full closure of eastbound Interstate 40 east of Kelbaker Road in San Bernardino County on Tuesday morning, June 16, 2026.

According to California Highway Patrol logs, the crash was reported shortly before 6 a.m. near mile marker 40 on eastbound Interstate 40.

Authorities stated that a semi-truck carrying Amazon cargo in a white dry van trailer caught fire, with flames visible from the engine area. The second semi-truck was described as a white truck pulling a red box trailer.

Officials said three parties were involved in the collision, but the extent of injuries sustained is currently unclear.

The investigation remains ongoing.
