[06-02-2026] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck By Pickup Truck in Colinas del Sol

A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in the Colinas del Sol neighborhood of San Diego on Tuesday afternoon, June 2, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. near the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and 54th Street. 

Authorities stated that a 29-year-old man driving a Nissan Titan eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard made a right turn onto 54th Street while a 54-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street eastbound from the south side of El Cajon Boulevard. The pickup truck struck the victim during the turn.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, including a subarachnoid hemorrhage, fluid in the abdomen and lungs, and multiple abrasions. The driver was not injured.

Police stated that alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
