[06-01-2026] Ventura County, CA – Two Hospitalized After Head-On Collision on SR-232

Two drivers were hospitalized following a head-on collision on Ventura County’s State Route 232, also known as Vineyard Avenue, on Monday morning, June 1, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just east of Perello Ranch Road. 

Authorities stated that a 32-year-old driving a gray Tesla sedan westbound veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a white Toyota SUV. The impact pushed the Toyota into the eastbound lanes, while the Tesla came to rest in the westbound lanes.

Firefighters extricated both drivers from their vehicles. Paramedics transported them to a local hospital with major injuries.

CHP stated that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. Investigators have not yet determined why the Tesla veered into oncoming traffic. 

CHP is continuing the investigation.
