[06-01-2026] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Selma

A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Selma, Fresno County, on Monday morning, June 1, 2026.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 8 a.m. near the intersection of Whitson Street and First Street. 

Officers arriving at the scene found the man had been struck at or near the intersection, and he died from his injuries.

Police stated that the driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with investigators. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin. Temporary road closures were in place and remained until the investigation was complete.
