[05-20-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Grandmother Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in San Fernando

A 62-year-old woman was hospitalized with severe injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in San Fernando, Los Angeles County, on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2026.

According to authorities, Sonia M. was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of 5th Street and North Maclay Avenue around 6:20 p.m. when a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck made a left turn and struck her. The driver fled the scene, leaving the victim lying on the roadway.

Officials said the victim sustained broken bones and other serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Bystanders assisted the woman immediately after the collision.
