[05-16-2026] Sonoma County, CA – Two Killed in Crash on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa

Two people were killed following a solo vehicle crash in Santa Rosa on Saturday afternoon, May 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded around 4:15 p.m. to the northbound Highway 101 north of Todd Road.

Authorities stated that a Mercedes had traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree. The 81-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 79-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Officials confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
