[05-10-2026] San Diego County, CA – Fatal Crash Shuts Down SR-94 Near I-5

At least one person was killed following a single-vehicle crash in downtown San Diego early Sunday morning, May 10, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 5:17 a.m. on westbound State Route 94 near the Interstate 5 interchange, west of 22nd Street.

Authorities stated that a white Honda Civic went off the roadway and crashed into a tree. Investigators reported that the vehicle may have lost a tire prior to the collision.
