[05-02-2026] San Mateo County, CA – One Killed, Another Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on San Mateo-Hayward Bridge

One man was killed, and another was injured following a two-vehicle crash on the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge early Saturday morning, May 2, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 1:10 a.m. east of the high-rise span of the bridge along State Highway 92.

Authorities reported that a Cadillac and an Acura were involved in the crash. The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Acura was transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley with major injuries.

Both drivers were alone in their vehicles at the time of the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
