Three people were injured, including a 5-year-old girl, in a two-vehicle crash in Folsom on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the crash occurred near Highway 50 and Prairie City Road.
Authorities stated that the collision involved a gray Lexus and a white Subaru. The Lexus was reportedly driving recklessly prior to the crash. Following the impact, the Subaru left the roadway, entered a wooded area south of the highway, and caught fire, which spread to nearby vegetation, causing a small grass fire.
Two occupants of the Subaru were transported to a hospital, including one person in critical condition and another with moderate injuries. The driver of the Lexus was trapped inside the overturned vehicle and required extrication before being taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
