[04-30-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Pedestrian on Manchester Ave. in South LA

A man in his 60s was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles early Thursday morning, April 30, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched at around 12:52 a.m. to the intersection of Manchester and Vermont avenues.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle, traveling westbound on Manchester Avenue, struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene without stopping to render aid.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

The LAPD’s West Traffic Bureau is investigating the fatal collision.
