[04-27-2026] Orange County, CA – 70-Year-Old Cyclist Killed in Collision on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach

A 70-year-old cyclist was killed after a collision with a vehicle in Huntington Beach on Monday morning, April 27, 2026.

According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the crash occurred just before noon on Pacific Coast Highway, north of Newland Street.

Officers arrived and found the cyclist unconscious in the roadway. Paramedics responded to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead due to his injuries.

Investigators stated that the cyclist was traveling southbound on Pacific Coast Highway and began merging into traffic to make an eastbound turn onto Newland Street when he collided with a Subaru Impreza traveling in the same direction. The 20-year-old driver of the Subaru was not injured and remained at the scene.

Authorities reported that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The identities of those involved have not been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
