[04-23-2026] Inyo County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on US-395 Near Schober Lane

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in unincorporated Inyo County on Thursday night, April 23, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 8:34 p.m. on the southbound US-395 just north of Schober Lane.

Authorities reported that the pedestrian was standing in the No. 1 lane facing southbound traffic when a Toyota Tacoma traveling in the same lane struck him.

The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding personnel.

The occupants of the Toyota remained at the scene and notified law enforcement. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
