[04-21-2026] San Diego County, CA – 78-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Crash in San Marcos

A 78-year-old bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Marcos on Tuesday afternoon, April 21, 2026.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the incident at around 12:11 p.m. on West San Marcos Boulevard.

Deputies reported that a white Lexus SUV collided with the bicyclist, who was found in the westbound lanes of the roadway. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene at around 12:26 p.m.

Authorities stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It has not been determined whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
