[04-21-2026] San Diego County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash Reported on I-15 Near Gopher Canyon Rd.

A two-vehicle collision was reported early Tuesday morning on southbound Interstate 15 near Gopher Canyon Road in San Diego County on April 21, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was first reported at around 6:18 a.m. through an automated Apple Watch notification.

Authorities stated that a gray Nissan Pathfinder and a white Ford pickup were involved in the collision, with both vehicles coming to rest in the center divider. The crash was later confirmed to have occurred in the No. 1 lane, prompting a response from CHP units.

The incident was initially classified as a collision with unknown injuries, then updated to a traffic collision requiring an emergency response. By around 7:02 a.m., responding units had arrived at the scene.
