[04-17-2026] Alameda County, CA – E-Bike Rider Hospitalized After Collision with Car in Northwest Berkeley

A man on an e-bike was taken to the hospital after colliding with a car in northwest Berkeley on Friday afternoon, April 17, 2026.

The crash occurred just after 2:30 p.m. at Cedar Street and San Pablo Avenue.

The rider, a man in his 50s, hit the car and was thrown over the handlebars. Authorities reported that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The rider was conscious at the scene but sustained several visible injuries. He was transported “Code 3,” with lights and sirens, to Highland Hospital, the regional trauma center.

The driver of the car remained at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
