[04-14-2026] San Benito County, CA – One Killed in Head-On Collision on Shore Rd.

One person was killed in a head-on collision on Shore Road in San Benito County on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a Honda Accord was traveling in the wrong lane east of Lake Road and collided with a GMC Sierra pickup. 

Life-saving efforts were attempted at the scene, but the driver of the Honda died from their injuries. The driver of the GMC was taken to a local hospital, though their condition has not been released.

CHP did not provide details on why the Honda was traveling in the wrong lane. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
