[04-14-2026] San Diego County, CA – Teenager Riding Dirt Bike Injured in Collision with SUV in Encanto

A 14-year-old teenager was injured after being hit by an SUV while riding his dirt bike in the Encanto neighborhood of San Diego on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the area of 6800 Wunderlin Avenue.

The teen was riding westbound when a 45-year-old man driving a Chevy Suburban made an eastbound turn onto Wunderlin Avenue from 68th Street. The bicyclist collided with the right front corner of the SUV during the turn.

The teen suffered a fractured left ankle, brain bleeds, and other injuries. Driving under the influence was not suspected in the crash.

The SDPD traffic division is investigating the incident.
