[04-03-2026] El Dorado County, CA – Two Airlifted After Crash on Highway 50 Near Red Hawk Casino

Two people were airlifted to the hospital with major injuries following a crash on Highway 50 near Red Hawk Casino in El Dorado County on Friday, April 3, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment. Both a man and a woman were injured in the crash and were airlifted to a nearby hospital.

A portion of the freeway was temporarily shut down during the medical evacuation, but it has since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
