A motorist and his passenger died after their vehicle struck a tree in Weldon, Kern County, on Saturday evening, March 28, 2026.
According to the Kern County coroner’s office, the crash occurred at 6:35 p.m. in the 19000 block of Highway 178.
While the driver has not yet been identified, the passenger was 62-year-old Weldon resident Deborah S.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
