One person is dead following a suspected DUI crash in Madera County on Monday, March 30, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at the intersection of Avenue 17 and Daley Road when a white Ford sedan was struck by a GMC Denali. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Ford fled the scene after the collision.
Investigators said the Denali driver lost control while driving north on Daley Road, causing the vehicle to flip at least twice. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
DUI is suspected in the crash, with multiple beer cans found inside the vehicle. No identities have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
