[02-22-2026] Santa Barbara County, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Blosser Rd. in Santa Maria

A bicyclist in his 50s was killed after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in northwest Santa Maria on Sunday night, February 22, 2026.

According to the Santa Maria Police Department, officers responded around 6:45 p.m. to the area of Blosser Road and Bunny Avenue after a caller reported a bicycle in the roadway. 

Emergency personnel located the victim, who appeared to have been struck while riding southbound in the bike lane on Blosser Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver did not remain at the location. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.

The crash remains under investigation.
