[02-22-2026] San Benito County, CA – 48-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Injured in Rollover Crash on Highway 156

A 48-year-old Hollister man was killed in a motorcycle rollover crash at a roundabout between Hollister and San Juan Bautista in San Benito County on Sunday afternoon, February 22, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 3:42 p.m. on Highway 156 at Bixby Road.

Officers arrived to find a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with rollover damage and the driver lying nearby. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died despite lifesaving efforts.

A passenger on the motorcycle was also taken to a hospital with major injuries. 

Authorities said the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and no potential factors have been ruled out.

The investigation remains ongoing.
