[02-09-2026] Tulare County, CA – 90-Year-Old Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 190

A 90-year-old man was killed following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 190 between Springville and Porterville in Tulare County, early Monday morning, February 9, 2026.

The California Highway Patrol reported that officers were alerted to the collision around 7:30 a.m. and responded to Highway 190 east of Success Valley Drive. 

Investigators said the crash involved a Honda Pilot traveling westbound and a 2019 GMC 2500 traveling eastbound.

CHP determined that the Honda Pilot was driven by a 90-year-old man with a 79-year-old woman as a passenger. At the same time, a 20-year-old man driving the GMC drifted into the opposite lane, where the vehicle collided head-on with the Honda.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to a hospital for treatment, while the driver of the GMC sustained minor injuries.

Authorities said the identities of those involved have not been officially released. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed the deceased was a longtime volunteer with the department.

The crash remains under investigation.
