[02-04-2026] Mariposa County, CA – Woman Suffers Major Injuries After Head-On Crash on Highway 49

A woman suffered major injuries following a head-on crash in Mariposa County on Wednesday afternoon, February 4, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on Highway 49 just east of Wass Road. CHP said the woman was driving in the area at the time of the crash.

Authorities reported that the woman sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The condition of the other driver and any passengers involved in the crash was not released.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
