[01-30-2026] San Benito County, CA – One Killed After Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 156 at Bixby Rd. Roundabout

One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash in San Benito County on Friday morning, January 30, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol Hollister-Gilroy Area, the crash was reported at around 7:12 a.m. on Highway 156 at the Bixby Road roundabout. 

Authorities confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision. It was not immediately known whether any additional injuries were reported.

CHP stated that all lanes reopened by approximately 8:38 a.m., though emergency personnel remained on scene. Drivers were advised to use caution while traveling through the area.

The victim’s identity has not been released and will be disclosed after the next of kin have been notified. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
