At least one person was killed following a three-vehicle crash on Highway 138 near Mountain Road in Pinon Hills, San Bernardino County, on Friday night, January 23, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. near the Chevron gas station along Highway 138.
Emergency responders arrived to find three vehicles damaged and spread across the roadway. CHP incident logs confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released information regarding the number of occupants in each vehicle or the extent of injuries to others involved.
Photos from the scene showed a Toyota Camry with extensive front-end damage, a black SUV with severe damage to the front and sides, and a white sedan resting off the roadway with front-end impact damage.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
