[01-13-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Northbound 101 Freeway in East Hollywood

A two-vehicle crash involving a truck shut down all lanes of the northbound Hollywood (101) Freeway in the East Hollywood area in Los Angeles, Tuesday morning, January 13, 2026, snarling traffic during the morning commute.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 5:15 a.m. near the Vermont Avenue exit. 

A video from the scene showed the truck under an overpass, with fuel or another fluid spilled across multiple lanes.

Traffic was being diverted onto Vermont Avenue as crews responded to the wreck. Northbound traffic was backed up beyond the Harbor (110) Freeway to Cesar Chavez Avenue.

A SigAlert was issued, and authorities urged drivers to seek alternative routes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
