[01-11-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Child Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle at Elkhorn Boulevard and Cherry Lane in Rio Linda

A 10-year-old child was injured after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Elkhorn Boulevard and Cherry Lane in Rio Linda, Sacramento County, on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

According to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials, firefighters responded to the scene and found the child with moderate injuries. The child was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

California Highway Patrol officers were also on the scene and are handling the investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
