[01-06-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Northbound 5 Freeway at Magic Mountain Parkway in Santa Clarita

One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway at Magic Mountain Parkway in Santa Clarita on Tuesday morning, January 6, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at 3:00 a.m. when a box truck, a gold Toyota Camry, and a semitrailer collided, blocking several lanes of the freeway. 

The box truck overturned during the crash, causing significant traffic delays during the rush hour. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the name, age, or gender of the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
