One person was killed, and four others were taken to hospitals following a traffic collision on Franklin Boulevard near 47th Avenue in the Lemon Hill area in Sacramento County, early Saturday morning, December 27, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol South Sacramento division, the crash occurred around 1:13 a.m. when a gray Nissan Rogue failed to stop at a red traffic signal and struck a silver Nissan Rogue before continuing into a parking lot and hitting a fence.
CHP said the driver of the gray SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers from the gray Nissan Rogue were transported to local hospitals with major injuries. The driver of the silver Nissan Rogue and one passenger were also hospitalized with major injuries.
Authorities said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
