A solo vehicle crash forced the closure of Watt Avenue in Arden Arcade, Sacramento County, after a utility pole was struck Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9:36 a.m. near the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District’s Station 103 in the 3800 block of Watt Avenue.
CHP said a single vehicle struck a utility pole, shearing it off and bringing down power lines. Authorities closed Watt Avenue in both directions between Edison Avenue and Auburn Boulevard, just south of the Capital City Freeway and Interstate 80.
An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, though it was not immediately known whether anyone was injured.
CHP logs indicated there were two separate crashes reported on Watt Avenue on Tuesday morning, but only one involved the utility pole. The other collision involved three vehicles near Watt Avenue and Auburn Boulevard by the Shell gas station.
Sacramento Municipal Utility District crews responded to make emergency repairs, and motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
The cause of the crashes is under investigation.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
