A 52-year-old man was killed after being struck by an SUV while riding a bicycle near Oceanside Harbor in San Diego County on Saturday night, December 6, 2025.
According to the Oceanside Police Department, the collision happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Harbor Drive.
The bicyclist suffered severe head injuries and a compound thighbone fracture. Paramedics airlifted him to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his name pending family notification.
OPD spokeswoman Gina Avalos said the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
