[12-02-2025] Nine Injured After AC Transit Bus Crashes Into Auto Repair Shop on Foothill Boulevard Near 68th Avenue in OaklandNine people were hospitalized after an AC Transit bus collided with an SUV and crashed into an auto repair shop on Foothill Boulevard near 68th Avenue in Oakland on Tuesday afternoon, December 2, 2025.

According to AC Transit spokesman Robert Lyles, the crash happened around 1:15 p.m. as the bus was heading toward downtown Oakland. 

A white SUV crossed in front of the bus at the intersection, causing the two vehicles to collide. The impact sent the bus over a curb and into All Bout Cars Auto Body & Repair. Lyles said all nine people on board the bus were transported to nearby hospitals with minor injuries. The bus driver had to be rescued through a window by Oakland firefighters.

The two occupants of the SUV also sustained minor injuries. It was not immediately known whether the auto shop was open or if anyone was inside at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
