![[12-02-2025] Two Killed, Including Child, After Fiery Four-Vehicle Crash on Highway 87 Near Curtner Avenue in San Jose](https://ak1.to//VbU.webp)
Two people, including a child, were killed, and two others were injured after a fiery four-vehicle crash on northbound Highway 87 in San Jose on Tuesday morning, December 2, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 10:49 a.m. and involved two Teslas, a Lexus, and a Toyota Sienna.
CHP said the Teslas and the Lexus caught fire, and an adult and a juvenile inside the Lexus died at the scene. The driver of one of the Teslas was transported to a hospital with injuries of unknown severity. The driver of the Toyota Sienna remained at the scene, cooperated with investigators, and was later released.
Northbound Highway 87 was shut down just north of Curtner Avenue, and traffic was diverted onto Curtner Avenue as emergency crews responded. CHP said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors, and the investigation is ongoing.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
