A security guard was hospitalized with major injuries after being struck and run over by a pickup truck that also reversed into a bar near Sutter and Riley streets in Folsom early Friday, November 28, 2025.
According to the Folsom Police Department, officers responded around 12:30 a.m. after a pickup truck driver reportedly reversed into the business.
Police said the male driver then attempted to flee, and several bar employees ran after him. When they caught up, the driver allegedly turned the truck toward one of the security guards, struck the guard, then backed up and ran over him again. The guard was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries and was expected to survive.
Police said the suspect had previously attempted to enter the establishment but was turned away. Officers later located the driver and arrested him. He was booked on suspicion of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, and felony hit-and-run. His name has not been released.
Officials did not immediately provide information on damage to the bar.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
