[10-24-2025] Two Killed, Two Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa MonicaTwo people were killed and two others were injured after a driver struck pedestrians on the sidewalk along Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica on Friday night, October 24, 2025.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department, officers responded around 9:15 p.m. to the 1300 block of Wilshire Boulevard, where they found four victims on the south sidewalk.

Paramedics pronounced two victims dead at the scene, while two others were transported to a hospital with injuries that were expected to be non-life-threatening.

One of the victims was identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as 61-year-old Brad L., CEO of a Santa Monica event planning firm. The second victim, a woman in her 60s, has not yet been publicly identified.

Lt. Lewis Gilmour said preliminary information indicated the involved vehicle was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Wilshire Boulevard when it veered onto the sidewalk and struck the pedestrians. The vehicle remained at the scene, but the driver fled on foot before officers arrived.

The suspect was described as a man about six feet tall, last seen wearing a red hat, black sweater, and black shoes. Interim Santa Monica Police Chief Darrick Jacob said investigators are working to locate the suspect and expressed condolences to the victims’ families.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
