[10-18-2025] Monterey County, CA – 40-Year-Old Man Arrested After Multiple Hit-and-Run Crashes Near Fairgrounds Road and North Fremont Street

[10-18-2025] 40-Year-Old Man Arrested After Multiple Hit-and-Run Crashes Near Fairgrounds Road and North Fremont StreetA 40-year-old man from Madera was arrested in connection with multiple hit-and-run crashes that occurred in Monterey on Saturday night, October 18, 2025.

According to the Monterey Police Department, officers received reports around 11:10 p.m. of a hit-and-run near Fairgrounds Road and Casa Verde Way.

Investigators determined that the suspect, identified as Ulises H., had attended a party earlier that day at the Monterey County Fairgrounds.

Police said Ulises was driving east on Fairgrounds Road in a red Toyota Corolla when he allegedly rear-ended a silver Honda Pilot. A juvenile passenger in the Honda was injured. The driver of the Honda exited the vehicle to speak with Ulises, but he reversed and fled the scene.

While fleeing, Ulises reportedly struck a parked Honda CR-V along the north curb of Fairgrounds Road. As officers were investigating, they received another report of a crash near 2100 North Fremont Street, where Ulises’ vehicle had collided with another parked Honda CR-V.

Ulises allegedly abandoned the Toyota Corolla and fled on foot. Officers later located him at a nearby hotel on Sunday morning. Police said two pairs of brass knuckles were found inside his vehicle.

Ulises was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail for hit-and-run causing injury, hit-and-run, driving without a license, and possession of metal knuckles. His bail was set at $10,000.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
