A 30-year-old man was killed after running a stop sign and colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Butte Avenue and American Avenue west of Kerman on Monday evening, October 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 8 p.m. A 30-year-old Kerman man driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Butte Avenue and approaching a stop sign at the T-intersection with American Avenue. At the same time, a 2017 Honda Civic was heading west on American Avenue.
For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet ran the stop sign and struck the passenger side of the Honda. The Honda veered off the south side of American Avenue into a dirt field, where it rolled over before coming to rest on its wheels.
The Chevrolet continued into a nearby field and struck a power pole guide wire before stopping. The driver exited the vehicle and collapsed at the scene. He was airlifted to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the Honda was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. CHP confirmed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts and that neither was suspected of being under the influence.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
