![[10-14-2025] Tow Truck Goes Down Embankment After Collision with Lexus SUV on Southbound I-15 Near State Route 76](https://ak1.to//OU5@V.webp)
A tow truck went down an embankment after colliding with a Lexus SUV on southbound Interstate 15 just south of State Route 76 in San Diego County, on Tuesday afternoon, October 14, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 2:47 p.m. and involved a Fallbrook-based commercial tow truck and a white Lexus RX 350.
CHP dispatch logs indicated that the tow truck traveled about 100 feet down an embankment, while the Lexus pulled to the right shoulder.
Fire crews from Cal Fire/San Diego County Fire and CHP units responded to the scene. A fire engine arrived shortly after 2:50 p.m., and the roadway was partially blocked as crews assessed the situation and arranged for a heavy-duty tow recovery.
A wrecker was dispatched at 2:58 p.m. to retrieve the vehicle. No injuries or lane closures were reported in the initial update.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
