A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on northbound Interstate 15 south of the Old Highway 395 offramp in Bonsall, San Diego County, on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 12:35 a.m. Callers reported seeing a man lying in the center divide and later walking in traffic lanes, waving at passing drivers. Witnesses said he may have been trying to cross the freeway when he was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency responders confirmed the fatality at the scene. A black Mercedes-Benz was found pulled over to the shoulder. CHP units closed the northbound lanes of I-15 south of Deer Springs Road while investigators documented the evidence.
The victim was described as a white male adult wearing dark clothing. His identity has not been released pending next of kin notification.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
