A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing his Tesla into the side of a home in Seaside on Sunday night, October 12, 2025.
According to Seaside police, the crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the area of San Lucas and Baker. Officers arrived to find the Tesla had collided with a house, and the driver, identified as Charles E. of Seaside, showed signs of intoxication. Officers also found a gun on the floor of the vehicle.
Charles was transported to a hospital and later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI with excessive blood alcohol, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, open-container violation, hit-and-run, and violating probation. The passenger was also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
