Two people were injured in a head-on collision on Highway 1 at the intersection with Santa Lucia Canyon Road near Lompoc in Santa Barbara County, on Tuesday afternoon, October 7, 2025.
According to Capt. Scott Safechuck, Santa Barbara County Fire personnel, Lompoc Fire Department crews, and the California Highway Patrol responded around 5:45 p.m. The crash involved two sedans, and one vehicle may have rolled over. One patient sustained major injuries and was airlifted by CalStar to Marian Regional Medical Center, while a second patient with minor injuries was transported to a hospital in Santa Maria.
Southbound lanes were temporarily closed, with debris from the crash also affecting the northbound lanes. CHP officers from Buellton are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
