A 51-year-old male bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Watsonville on Tuesday morning, September 30, 2025.
According to Watsonville Police, the crash occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of South Green Valley Road and Carey Avenue.
The bicyclist was transported to a hospital, where he died Wednesday night. The driver initially fled the scene but was later located using the city’s Flock Safety Cameras. The vehicle involved, a white 2000 Dodge Durango, was seized as evidence, and the driver has cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities stated that they are working with the Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office to determine the charges that will be filed. The investigation is ongoing.
