A 70-year-old man was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Midway, San Diego, on Friday afternoon, October 3, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. on the 4100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard.
A 1992 Mazda pickup truck, driven by a 29-year-old man traveling northbound in the adjacent lane, struck the bicyclist as he turned left from the bike lane into the path of the oncoming vehicle. The victim sustained fractured ribs, a broken tibia, a fibula fracture, and a collapsed lung. He was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.
The investigation is being handled by the SDPD Traffic Division.
