[09-17-2025] San Bernardino County, CA – Woman Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Redlands; Suspect Arrested in Hesperia

A 38-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Redlands on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The suspect was arrested in Hesperia one week later, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

According to the Redlands Police Department, witnesses reported two vehicles speeding through a red light at Alabama Street and Industrial Park Drive.

One of the vehicles struck Stephany A., who was walking in the number two (outside) lane. The impact threw her into the inside lane, where she was apparently struck a second time. Both drivers fled the scene westbound on Redlands Boulevard. Stephany was found unresponsive, transported to a local hospital, and later pronounced deceased.

Investigators tracked the suspect, 35-year-old Loren O. of Redlands, driving a rental vehicle in Hesperia after a brief pursuit. He caused three minor collisions before being safely detained.

Loren is being held without bail at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino and faces felony charges for hit-and-run resulting in injury and violation of post-release community supervision.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash and are seeking the second unidentified vehicle and driver.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
