A man was killed after being struck by a semi-truck on Paramount Boulevard in Long Beach on Friday afternoon, September 19, 2025.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:00 p.m. in the 6700 block of Paramount Boulevard.
The pedestrian was walking northbound in the middle of the roadway, outside of the marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a southbound 2019 International semi-truck. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The driver of the big rig, a 51-year-old Long Beach resident, remained on scene and cooperated with authorities. Police stated that speed and distracted or impaired driving do not appear to be factors in the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
