Two drivers sustained injuries in a two-car collision in La Mesa on Wednesday night, September 17, 2025.
According to police, the crash occurred around 11:19 p.m. at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and University Avenue.
A 33-year-old San Diego man was driving a black Acura sedan when it collided with a silver Chevrolet sedan. The Acura driver was transported to Sharp Grossmont Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries but declined hospital transport.
The Acura driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury under California Vehicle Code 23153(a). No other occupants or pedestrians were involved, and the La Mesa Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
